Africa’s Great Lakes sub-region is blessed by cultural diversity, natural beauty and resources.
But the sub-region has been plagued by decades of political instability and armed conflict, power struggles and tensions over natural resources, leading to humanitarian crises and poverty. Millions of people were killed, millions were displaced, thousands of women raped. Many people lost their hope.
APRED-RGL builds local capacities for peace and sustainable development, facilitates intercultural learning and reconciliation, promotes social cohesion and solidarity and gives hope to the people in the sub-region.
